Sarah Murray

LMSW

Sarah is a Licensed Master Social Worker who has 7 years of experience in the field. She embraces a person-centered and strengths-based approach to therapy through which she honors every client as the expert of their own experience. Sarah is passionate about helping clients discover and nurture their individual strengths to foster empowerment and positive change.  Sarah holds hope for her clients to not just survive, but truly thrive in their lives, and utilizes therapeutic processes that are meaningful and tailored to each client's individual needs.

Sarah received her undergraduate degree in Social Work from Salisbury University in 2017. She began her career working at the Cecil County Aging and Disability Resource Center, where she provided advocacy, counseling and compassionate therapeutic support to older adults, people with disabilities, and the family caregivers who love and support them. After receiving her graduate degree in Social Work from Salisbury University in 2020, Sarah pursued her social work licensure and began practicing as an Oncology Social Worker at her community's local hospital. In this role, Sarah discovered the healing impact of providing compassionate trauma-informed care to those experiencing cancer as they navigate through this difficult life transition. While working in these environments, Sarah also discovered a passion for helping those experiencing grief and loss, anxiety, depression, caregiver stress/burn-out, end-of-life circumstances and trauma.

In her clinical work, Sarah strives to provide trauma-informed therapy in a safe and non-judgmental environment to foster true healing. Sarah provides therapeutic supports through an intersectional-feminist lens to cultivate collaboration, authenticity and inclusion to those who face adversity. While using modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Systems/Attachment Theory, Sarah is also excited to explore and further implement progressive integrative modalities, such as Internal Family Systems. She will be completing her Level 1 Advanced Trauma Treatment Certificate through the Ferentz Institute in spring 2024.
