Heather Diehl

LMSW, CTP

Heather has been in the Social Work field for over 10 years, with experience in higher education, child welfare, and hospice. She is specialized in issues related to grief and loss, anxiety, depression, and PTSD. As a military spouse, Heather understands the unique needs of military-connected clients and has completed specialized training in evidenced-based
treatments to assist individuals serving in the military, veterans, and military families. Heather utilizes systems theory as a foundation to assist her clients in navigating their journey through treatment while integrating client-centered and strengths-based approaches.

Heather earned her bachelor’s degree in English from Goucher College and her master’s degree in Social Work from California State University, Northridge. Heather is a Licensed Master Social Worker in the State of Maryland. Heather is a Certified Trauma Professional (CTP) specializing in Cognitive-Behavioral Theory (CBT) and Somatic-Based Interventions. Heather has completed Level 1 Training in Gottman Methods Couples Therapy. In Fall 2023, Heather will complete her Level 1 training in the Trauma Certificate Program through the Ferentz Institute.

Heather brings a wealth of knowledge around family systems, attachment theory, and the impact of adversity on mental health and wellness to Changing Tides. She is compassionate and encouraging and will join you on your journey to improve your relationship with yourself and your loved ones.
